LOCATION
Located in the tranquil North Male' Atol, Summer Island Maldives is 34 km from Velana International Airport Male'. The resort located on Ziyaaraiyfushi island has a profusion of tropical vegetation and is surrounded by white sandy beaches and a vast lagoon. The large crystal clear lagoon is excellent for swimming, surfing, catamaran sailing, snorkeling, diving and other watersports. Summer Island Maldives is reached via a breathtaking 45 minute speedboat ride over mesmerising turquoise waters (per request seaplane transfer can be arranged instead). Visitors are provided easy access to the major monuments of the Maldives including the National Museum, the Grand Friday Mosque, the Islamic Center, and the Presidential Palace.
ROOMS
Summer Island Maldives has 20 Water Villas, 16 Premium Beach Villas, 30 Superior Vista and 30 Superior Beach, 52 Superior Bungalows and 7 Garden Rooms and The Summer House. All rooms are open air in design, ensuring a bright, light openness, a fresh tropical vibrancy featuring lighter furniture on which to relax and lounge.
The Summer House - 6 Adults or 4 Adults + 2 Children under 15 years - Two Room Beach Suite, Master Suite, Living Room, Twin Room, Powder Room, Kitchenette, Outdoor and Indoor Dining Areas and Private.
Water Villa - 2 Adults - *Children below the age of 15 years are not allowed - detached overwater villa (45 sqm) with direct access to the lagoon, en-suite bathroom.
Premium Beach Villa - 3 Adults OR 2 Adults + 1 Children under 15 years + 1 Infant - detached chic villas (45 sqm) right on the beach.
Superior Vista - 3 Adults OR 2 Adults + 1 Children under 15 years + 1 Infant - first floor rooms (41 sqm) with large terraces and sea views. Children below 15 years will be allowed to stay in Superior Vistas with the parent consent and a disclaimer form signed on arrival.
Superior Beach - 3 Adults OR 2 Adults + 1 Children under 15 years + 1 Infant - ground floor rooms (41 sqm) with direct verandah access to the beach.
Superior Bungalow - 3 Adults OR 2 Adults + 1 Children under 15 years + 1 Infant - bungalows (40 Sqm) in blocks of two, with direct verandah access to the beach. Fourteen sets of Superior Bungalows are interconnected.
Garden Room - 3 Adults OR 2 Adults + 1 Children under 15 years + 1 Infant - rooms with veramdah (38 sqm) in a block facing lush landscaped gardens.
All rooms and villas have cable TV with USB port, individually controlled Air Conditioning units, writing table with drawer and chair, sofa and coffee table, complimentary tea-coffee, mini-fridge, luggage rack, in-room safe with power supply to safely charge electronic devices, IDD Telephones, free Wi-Fi, and open wardrobe with drawers. All rooms except the Water Villa, have partially open air bathrooms. The rooms and villas open out to a spacious verandah, deck or terrace depending on the type of room. This area is finished with out-door dining for two and, depending on the category, a large daybed or two sun lounges or daybed. All bathrooms have hairdryers and hot and cold water. Our soap, shampoo, hair conditioner, body lotion and shower gel are exclusively produced for Summer Island Maldives by Spa Ceylon and available in all accommodation categories. Beach towels are provided free of charge for all rooms. Both Villa categories have a DVD/ Blu Ray player, Espresso machine with complimentary pods and a stocked minibar. Their en suite bathrooms also feature a Jacuzzi bath tub and rain showers.

All wining and dining venues are designed with the weather and our guests in mind; open air, letting the sea breeze waft in, with wooden furniture and comfortable seating, Summer Island Maldives dining is an experience and one that allows you to absorb natures gifts while relishing your food and refreshments.
SAMUGA Main Restaurant - the name Samuga is the Dhivehi word for the decisive compass that guides chefs across the globe to bring you the best of international flavour. SAMUGA serves buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner for Superior Room, Superior Vista, Superior Beach and Garden Room guests on a 14-day rotating menu.
HIYA Overwater Restaurant - serves international semi-buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner for Water Villa and Premium Beach Villa guests.
NEVI Main Bar - serves all-inclusive drinks from 09:00 to midnight. It has open-air seating, facing the seafront on the sunset side of the island. A snack menu is also available at Nevi bar offering pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, ice cream and other snacks. Afternoon tea for All-inclusive guests is served at Nevi Bar as well.
AVI Overwater Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge - Á la carte dining with indoor and outdoor seating Menu emphasizing on regional seafood, pizzas, steaks and tapas.
Room Service Room service is available for all room categories, with an extra charge.

DIVING
Make the most of the world famous Maldivian dive at Summer Island Maldives. The waters close to the resort are rich in places to explore; reefs, lagoons, shipwrecks and large, underwater gardens populated with shoals of tropical fish all yours to discover and see close-up in the world's highest visibility water.
For expert dive guides and experienced instructors, you need to look no further than The 'Feena', (the Dhivehi word for diving) hosted by Diverland – the Island's diving school. The Diverland adventure offers different dive courses together with supervised boat dives allowing you to discover the wonders of the sea bed; looking a turtle in the eye, getting up-close to a majestic manta ray and exploring the brilliantly coloured corals.
Summer Island is found close to the outside reef on the north-western edge of North Male' Atoll. You can easily reach of some 40 top sites that offer very different types of diving. For the adrenaline junkie there are channel dives with strong currents that whisk you along at an exhilarating rate. (Make sure your mask is on tight!) In places these currents cause upwellings where large sharks congregate to cruise effortlessly back and forth. Examples of such spots are the legendary shark points at Kuda Faru and Woshi Mas Thila. For divers who prefer a more relaxed pace, the Outside Reef has minimal current, superb visibility and lots to see at all depths. The overhangs along the bottom reef make ideal resting places for smaller white tip reef shark. Over the middle reef countless blue triggerfish gather to feed and a school of batfish might follow you for the whole dive. The cracks and crevices of the top reef attract lobster, moray eel, and the splendidly decorated lionfish. Madigaa and Eriyadhoo - Outside are two of the prime spots on the Outside Reef. Keen underwater naturalists will enjoy the dives of the inside atoll where hard and soft corals are fast recolonising the reef and attracting the highest diversity of colourful smaller fish. The coral growth at Ziyaarai Thila and Blue Canyon is among the best of North Male' Atoll. During the northeast monsoon, from November through April, giant manta rays regularly come to the thilas (sea mounts) of North Male' Atoll to feed and visit the cleaning stations. Encounters with other big fish, such as grey reef shark, eagle rays, and Napoleon wrasse, are a year round possibility.With 15 years of diving experience in the Maldives and an impeccable safety record the Diverland team has taken over the dive centre on Summer Island in 2003. WATERSPORTS
Participating in a variety of water-sports is the perfect way to use up some of that excess of energy that all that Maldivian sun, sea and air has helped generate. Navigating quietly and calmly through the turquoise blue ocean, listening to the waves lapping on the white sand shore and bobbing gently in your choice of paddle-boat, canoe, windsurfer or catamaran is the perfect antidote to the normal stress of the world. If you want something a bit more exciting then why not consider a banana boat or para-sailing. Alternatively, just scoop up your trusty mask, snorkel and fins combination and head for the nearest lagoon.
